How to Prepare for the HEC LAT: The Ultimate Strategy
Published by Education Helper
Scoring 50+ marks in the LAT is entirely achievable if you study smart instead of just studying hard. Many students fail because they try to read thick encyclopedias instead of focusing on the specific areas HEC targets. Here is the proven strategy recommended by the Education Helper platform.
1. Master the "Big Two" (English & GK)
English and General Knowledge combined make up 40 marks of the objective portion. If you secure good marks here, you have practically passed the test. Focus heavily on English Synonyms/Antonyms and memorize important global capitals, currencies, and international organizations for GK.
2. Play to Your Strengths in the Subjective Section
The Essay (15 marks) and Personal Statement (10 marks) are where many students either pass with flying colors or fail miserably. Crucial Tip: If your English grammar is weak, write your essay and statement in Urdu. HEC does not penalize you for choosing Urdu, but they will deduct heavy marks for broken English grammar.
3. Perfect Your Time Management
You only have 120 minutes. A winning strategy is to finish the 75 MCQs in the first 60 minutes. This leaves you a full hour to plan, write, and review your Essay and Personal Statement without panicking.
